i dint see my other computers the network

I dint see my other computers on the network

I have one computer with Vista and 2 with XP, when I go in network I only see my computer and the router I can't see the 2 other computers. If I do a search on the XP computers I can find the Vista computer but I cant see the XP computers on Vista. Everything else is fine. What am I doing wrong ?? Thanks for your help

I believe that by default Vista sets your network to "Public". If you change it to "Private" you should be able to see the entire network. Hope this helps.

Do you have your Vista box configured for the same network group name as your other systems?
Vista defaults to a network workgroup name of 'Workgroup'

Is, "Discovery and Sharing" turned on or "Allowed" in the Network Center??? Since you said you could see the Vista box from your XP machines I have to assume that you have some security setting blocking you from viewing your XP boxes in Vista.

Hi when you set up your network on XP you gave the network a name either "OFFICE or MSHOME" you need to make sure that your Workgroup on the Vista machine is the same as the one on the laptop running XP. If these match everything should show up. -- Ghost
